Kirsty Wood - Financial Controller

Whilst having my schooling in Scarborough and further education studying Art & Design at the Westwood Campus, I worked for a local family run food and leisure business, at weekends and throughout the summer holidays. After completing my qualification at Westwood, during the quieter winter months I began helping out in the office with general administration duties. It was then that I decided to study accounts.

I began a work placement at the Crown Spa Hotel as an office junior at Christmas in 2001. I started studying AAT soon after. I am now a qualified Accounting Technician and have since progressed to become Acting Financial Controller for the company. I am hoping to study further to gain a higher qualification and become a member of a chartered institute alongside the daily operations of the accounts department.

Just recently I spent a month in Australia where I have family living in Scarborough, Perth! In my free time I enjoy live music, weekends away and saving up for my next trip abroad!
